From the Karatina washing station in the Barichu locale of Nyeri county, Kenya, this washed process coffee is bursting with notes of currants, cherries, blackberries, and citrus fruits. Part of the Barichu Cooperative Society, representing 1,450 smallholder farmers, these coffees are often shade grown under the cover of grevillea, macadamia, and banana trees, and then picked and washed using Kenyan processing methods resulting in a cup that has incredible clarity.
